Hand-crafted from Pueblo leather, sourced from the prestigious Italian tannery Badalassi Carlo. The Castleton begins with a unique, slightly coarse matte texture. With every use, the leather transforms, naturally polishing its fibres to develop a rich, smooth patina that darkens in tone and reflects your unique history.

Colours used in the photos:

  • Bone & Prugna (Colonial Thread)
  • Oliva & Cognac (Medium Brown Thread)
  • Mosto & Nero (Black Thread)

Compatibility

The journal cover is available in two sizes: one designed to fit Moleskine (Large), and another that fits both Leuchtturm1917 (Medium/A5) and Rettacy (A5, 192-page).

Includes

  1. Branded presentation box, to store and display your collection piece.
  2. Sealed thank you note
  3. Certificate of Authenticity

Does not include any other items shown in the photos.

How it's made

The Castleton is made from 3 cuts of Badalassi Carlo Pueblo, two large pieces for the inside and outside, then a third for the inner leaf. After trimming, bevelling and burnishing the leather, I then punch the stitch holes using a French pricking iron. I then saddle-stitch the journal using 0.8mm Tiger Thread, which is then hammered down to reduce the profile of the stitch.

Approximate Dimensions

  • Leuchtturm1917 (Medium/A5): Approximately 240mm tall by 340mm wide (when open)
  • Moleskine (L) version: Approximately 240mm tall by 310mm wide (when open)

Natural Leather Characteristics

  • The colour of your leather piece may differ slightly from what you see on your screen.
  • Due to the dyeing process, the colour may vary slightly depending on the area of the leather.
  • As full-grain leather undergoes minimal processing, natural wrinkles may remain visible and their patterns can vary from piece to piece.
  • With natural leather, some blemishes are to be expected, though I always do my best to keep these to a minimum.

Safety Information

Designed for adult decorative or ritual use. Not suitable for children. May contain small parts that could present a choking hazard. Keep away from fire and moisture. Read more in my Safety & Compliance Policy.
