You may also find some imperfections in the leather. I've taken a front/back photo of each item for you to inspect before purchasing.

Inspiration
The idea of this was originally conceived after discussing the art of tarot with my esoteric advisor (@otiorumstudio). Being able to provide a medium for tarot cards to be thoughtfully placed felt like a exciting opportunity to lean into my design and problem-solving skills.

How it is made
The decorative front is made from full grain 5oz (2.5mm) vegetable tanned leather. I've carefully dyed, antiqued, and finished the piece to achieve a rich, wooden sheen that enhances the natural beauty of the full grain leather. The intricate decoration blends custom-made stamping tools and detailed hand-carving, showcasing traditional craftsmanship. Each tarot card slot was precisely measured to fit standard-sized (70mm x 120mm) tarot cards, providing a snug placement for your card draws.
The reverse side features full grain 5oz (1.5mm) vegetable tanned leather, also dyed, antiqued, and finished to complement the front. I've stamped it with thoughtful text and the Midlands Apothecary logo, adding a personal and authentic touch to the mat.
To bring both sides together, the two pieces of leather are adhered and sewn using durable and discreet polyester thread. The edges have also been dyed and burnished.
Approximate Dimensions
The dimensions of the mat are 252mm wide by 185mm tall by 5mm thick.
The card placements are 120mm tall and 70mm wide, which is ideal for the most common size of tarot card.
Natural Leather Characteristics
The colour of your leather piece may differ slightly from what you see on your screen.
Due to the dyeing process, the colour may vary slightly depending on the area of the leather.
As full-grain leather undergoes minimal processing, natural wrinkles may remain visible and their patterns can vary from piece to piece.
With natural leather, some blemishes are to be expected, though I always do my best to keep these to a minimum.

Made-to-order items take approximately 7-10 working days to produce. The production process involves multiple stages, including tooling, dyeing, and antiquing, which require 2-3 days of drying time before assembly and packaging.
